CIRCA Projects
Identity, Campaign, Website, Publication.
CIRCA Projects’ practice spans exhibition making to independent publishing, commissioning new works and the production of events and performances. Operating as a mutable entity, over the years CIRCA Projects’ has been rethinking its own structure from one programme to the next.
Since 2009, CIRCA Projects has worked in shifting thematic and structural cycles. The organisation has maintained its intent of experimenting with exhibition formats and fostering collaborations that challenge artistic and curatorial roles alongside a consistent focus on its regional context. Led by Dawn Bothwell, Adam Phillips and Sam Watson, in 2016, the organisation invited artist Giles Bailey to spend two years producing a new body of work in the Northeast of England.
