Stadsdichters — Visioen 21.4

Publication.
Design for Visioen 21.4 by Antwerp City Poet Lies Van Gasse. Every month, the city poets write a topical poem in De Standaard newspaper. Visioen 21.4 by Lies Van Gasse appeared in the newspaper on Saturday 6 April 2024.
Visioen 21.4 serves as a plea to preserve the silence and history of this garden and keep it accessible to the public. The special orchard, the symbolic floral splendour, and the statues of Aaron and Melchizedek, each tell their own story. That is why we must cherish this garden of silence. The Beguinage Garden is also a refuge for poets and thinkers, ranging from Peter Holvoet-Hanssen and Diane Broeckhoven to the soul mates of our proto-city poet Hadewijch of Antwerp in the much more distant past.
On April 21 at 16:30 the centuries-old meditation garden will be renamed the 'Hofje der Poëten' by the 'StadsPeter' and this poem will be unveiled in the Begijnhof garden by Lies Van Gasse. For that occasion, a unique prayer card was made, with the poem and illustration by Lies in a design by Watson Memić.
