Puente Editores — Rubén Grilo: Worn Not
Publication.
Worn Not is the first monograph dedicated to the artistic practice of Rubén Grilo, a Galician living in Berlin. The book critically examines Grilo’s work over more than a decade, connecting the dots of his meticulous yet heterogeneous body of work. Based on the artist’s indirect and exhaustive research on technology and its impact on art, the publication includes three texts: Melanie Bühler maps Grilo’s diverse work in search of a typology of artist that Grilo himself strives to deny; Zoey Lubitz examines Grilo’s use of denim, unravelling its material implications in a reality increasingly affected by the digital; Anna Mikkola talks with the artist, exchanging impressions about the multiple references that support his practice. The publication is accompanied by numerous images, providing the most extensive documentation of his work to date.
