Umami Tuinen
Identity & Web

Branding & Identity
Umami Tuinen is a leading Antwerp-based gardening practice led by Katrijn Van Renterghem, working with an understanding of and passion for ecological and edible gardening cultures. We were commissioned to develop a new identity for the practice that would encapsulate their approach to gardens and living, with a focus on colour and an emphasis on nature and craft.
The colour palette is inspired by the natural elements found in her gardens… wild flowers, lichen, gorse, moss, wood and rose and by Umami Tuinen’s focus on biodiversity and a fresh look to nature's role in garden design.
The new Umami Tuinen logo celebrates the holistic approach to gardening that is central to Katrijn and her business, with new expanded services offered, which, through close collaboration with other specialists, expand from traditional and edible garden design and management into natural swimming ponds and tree care. The logo is available in a range of lock-ups, including as a typeless stamp, reminiscent of a maker’s mark. We also created a comprehensive set of digital and print templates and oversaw an overhaul and visual refresh of the Umami Tuinen website to apply the new identity in this context.
